When will the new rates be effective for the Anthem for SOCA BP?
The 2018 rates become effective on May 1st for SOCA BP groups renewing.
Are all Anthem for SOCA BP groups renewing?
Renewing groups include any current SOCA BP participant with an effective date of May 1, 2016 through December 1, 2017. Groups with an effective date of January 1, 2018 to April 1, 2018 are not renewing, however, are required to enter updated 2018 pricing in FormFire.
How will MyCOBRA Plan be notified of the new rates?
FormFire will submit a renewal file to MyCOBRA Plan reflecting the 2018 plans and pricing for renewing groups.
How do I submit plan changes via FormFire?
Is an Employee required to select plans and sign their Employee application in FormFire if they are not making any changes to their plan?
No, an Employee is not required to select plans and sign an interview if there are no plan changes. The Broker should ensure that 2018 plans and pricing have been loaded in FormFire, and an employee plan selection has been made via group enroll.
Is an Employee required to select plans and sign their Employee application in FormFire if the group changed plans or the Employee has individual changes?
The broker is able to submit employee plan changes via send forms. Prior to sending documents to Anthem, plans and pricing should be updated, and employee plan selections made via group enroll.
If a group does not notify Anthem within 30 days for a termination, what happens?
Typically, we do not advise clients to notify the prior carrier of a cancellation until the new carrier group number is in place.
Per Anthem, they have requested a 30-day notice of a group’s cancellation. Please contact your Anthem carrier representative for additional information.
When is Open Enrollment?
Open Enrollment is April 1st through April 30th. Group level benefit changes during open enrollment, such as picking a plan or adding a new plan option, should be complete by April 30th for a May 1st effective date. Employee level open enrollment benefit changes have a 60-day window from April 1st to May 31st. All employee level plan changes submitted during this 60-day window will be given a May 1st effective date.
What happens to new enrollments submitted in May?
New hires will be subject to the Employer’s wait period. Their coverage will become effective after they have completed the wait period.
Will there be any webinars for HR reps?
We do not have any webinars scheduled for HR reps regarding the renewal process.
I am anticipating OE changes during the month of May. What effective date will the OE changes have?
All OE changes will be effective on 5/1/2018.
Does FormFire have copies of the renewals to update the plans and rates?
No. FormFire does not have copies of the 2018 renewals.
What if your client did not complete enrollment through FormFire? Does the renewal still need to be completed via FormFire?
Yes, all employees should be using FormFire to complete their enrollment.
We have a client who is renewing their plan “as is”, but the employer contribution will change. How do we change this?

Who notifies MyCOBRA Plan about the new rates?
FormFire will provide MyCOBRA Plan with the new rates and plans.
Will employees have to elect a plan if only one plan is being offered?
We require a plan election for every employee. This may be done via Group Enroll. Click here for the help article.
If a group is not making a plan change (one plan offered) and the employees are not making any enrollment changes, does the employee need to do anything in FormFire?
No, if the group is renewing “as is” and the employees are not making any changes, there is no action required by the employee. However, the broker will need to ensure all employees have a plan election via Group Enroll.
Is there going to be a real-time feed for adds and deletes eventually, or will they always be required to be faxed to Anthem?
FormFire and Anthem are working toward making improvements to some of our current processes. We will advise the Broker community of any process improvements as they become available.
